For AA members working in alcoholic environments

These Guidelines are for AA members who work in the field of alcoholism. This can include a variety of jobs within the world of alcoholism: social workers, nurses—from consultants to those who direct national and local programs. An overwhelming majority of the AA members who contributed to these Guidelines agree that it is professional qualities and experience, not AA membership, that qualifies a person for a professional position.
